Family Transitions
Empowering Schools
With the help of Spacehive we are crowdfunding to raise £17,518 to bring our wellbeing programme into primary schools in Swale, Kent — supporting children and families navigating some of life's hardest moments.
About the programme
Family Transitions is a structured, trauma-informed programme supporting primary school children through family change — separation, divorce, bereavement, or any significant shift at home.
Using gentle movement, mindfulness and creativity, the programme helps children understand what's happening in their bodies and minds during stress and change. Family Transitions gives them the language and tools to feel safe, seen, and supported — in themselves and with others.
Grounded in the latest research on how the brain and nervous system respond to stress, the programme works through a CPD train-the-school model: we train the adults in the building so that regulation and support becomes part of everyday school life, not a one-off intervention.
We are fundraising to pilot this with Eastling Primary and Luddenham School in Swale, Kent — two confirmed schools ready to bring Family Transitions into their communities.
Who it's for
Family Transitions works at three levels — children in the classroom, the adults around them, and the wider school community.
Children
Primary age pupils navigating change at home — helping them name feelings, understand their nervous system, and build regulation tools.
Teachers and staff
Trained to recognise dysregulation, respond with co-regulation, and create a safe classroom environment for children in transition.
Families
Parents and carers supported to understand what their child is experiencing and how to help at home — reducing conflict and rebuilding connection.
